Hi, I'm Arjun Mehta
Quantum Researcher, Educator, Builder
I'm a quantum computing researcher based in Bengaluru, with a background in physics from IISc and software engineering from startups. After spending years struggling with dense textbooks and inaccessible resources while learning quantum mechanics, I realized something was broken in how we teach this field.
So I built Indian Quantum Lab — a free, open-source platform making quantum computing education accessible to every Indian student, regardless of which college they attend or whether they can afford expensive courses.
Our Mission
Making quantum computing education accessible to every Indian student — regardless of their college, city, or background — because the quantum revolution needs all of India's talent.
The Story
In 2022, I was a second-year physics PhD student at IISc Bangalore, desperately trying to understand quantum error correction. The textbooks were dense, the research papers assumed graduate-level physics, and the few online courses that existed cost $500+ — a significant sum for a PhD stipend.
I started a Telegram group with 20 other struggling students. We shared notes, solved problems together, and slowly, things clicked. That group grew to 500 students within a year, all across India — from IITs to tier-3 engineering colleges, from metros to small towns.
Today, we've grown to 2,400+ Discord members, 15,000+ monthly blog readers, and partnerships with 12 engineering colleges. But the mission remains the same: free forever, open to everyone, made in India.
